ah, the irony...from my earlier post, i get this in my inbox today (and the mail merge was wrong...not in SFO) :-). if they asked me to not participate you'd think they'd take me off the reminder list :-)

Did they ask that you consider not attending (leaving the decision to you), or did they say you were flat out not allowed to attend?
james: if you look at the original post you'll see their exact wording -- it definitely was a polite 'ask' and i responded that i would honor that since they asked, but nothing was indicated upfront and it just overall didn't seem very tech friendly (btw, it was a sales seminar, no nda, no product announcements)
