facebook and silverlight

after playing around with some facebook toolkits, i wanted to ensure that facebook could enable silverlight applications within their context.  you see and already live in harmony in where you can create oh, i don't know, whack-a-mole with your facebook friend profiles? (sidenote: popfly was just updated again...read more here.)

i figured i'd whip up a quick and dirty proof using the python cube example (thus also testing to see if silverlight streaming in a facebook app would work).

lo and behold, no problems:

using my newfound friend , you can see a quick screencast of me adding it in facebook.  yeah, more cowbell...er, i mean, facebook!  you can check it out here.

Would you explain more on the steps how you add silverlight on facebook? I watched your screencast. But it didn't explain how you actually get it working.

Installed Silverlight for Facebook a few days ago and it had been working fine. Starting yesterday SL Facebook won't start. I get the black screen with the message that says, If I already installed SL, run from the shortcut, or right click to uninstall. I have uninstalled SL Facebook and reinstalled to no avail. Any ideas?

Dino -- once you've installed it you need to run it from the desktop/start menu shortcut that it creates.

Yeah, tried that over and over. I tried the shortcut on the desktop, and the from the start menu shortcut. Is there a cookie or some other file/tag that gets set someplace after installation that I may have deleted? I run CCleaner everynight. At this point I have completely uninstalled Silverlight 4. I'll try reinstalling. Thanks for the help.

Trouble, I did not follow the Silverlight instructions for removing it (Control Panel Add/Remove Programs). I used Revo Uninstaller. Now there is a remnant somewhere, the registry I suspect, that prevents me from reinstalling. It gets to a point and says Silverlight is already installed. Sheesh, I knew when I was starting Revo to do the uninstall that it was the wrong way to go.

Okay, Silverlight 4 Beta reinstalled. Still get the same error "You have already installed the application, please launch it from your shortcut. To uninstall/reinstall, right click here and choose "Remove this application...". Sorry to keep bugging you, if there is a forum somewhere I could go there. I really like the SL for FB. Thanks.

Hope your back is all fixed after the witch doctoring.
