off topic: television and reality shows

i'm sick of reality shows...except hells kitchen of course.  but seriously, everything i see on tv is some reality show.  what ever happened to raw, artificial entertainment?  well over the past few weeks i've learned it moved to other networks.  not that i'm endorsing all the actors in these shows as their best performances, but i've been entertained by them...and to me that is what counts.

check them out if you are sick of the reality ones as well:

both completely artificial plot lines, bad acting in some areas, etc. -- you know...back to the basics.

    Hey Tim,

We've given up on TV altogether, except for shows that we can get on DVD from Netflix. Check out the BBC series "Coupling" (available with "Watch Now"), and the HBO Series "Big Love". We also went through "24" on DVD (way more satisfying than on network TV). I just got the BBC series "Cold Feet", but haven't watched any episodes yet.

I think that the tv model has changed, at least for me. I want to watch on MY schedule and I'm willing to pay for that, rather than to pay for cable which I only use periodically.

I completely agree, sick of the reality shows. In fact, tired of the lack of reality in the reality shows.

LOVE the BIG LOVE! Never miss it! Love Hell's Kit (who's gonna win on Monday?), but top reality show is "so you think you can dance". I wait for it every summer!Nip/Tuck (FX) is AWESOME as well, hopefully will be back in the fall.

I'm guessing reality TV is like the news in that both are cheap to produce.

    cheers,
