redesign the mix web site and win

got mad design and css skillz? take a stab at redesigning the mix web site for a contest. i saw through twitter that adam kinney noted only one person entered yet. and there are three prizes!!! should make winning pretty simple right now ;-).

of course i'm ineligible (that's my way of getting off, because i have no mad design skillz), but might i suggest a few themes to try out:
either way, all you have to do is visit the restyle contest page and download the starter kit. so what are you waiting for? deface, er...i mean...restyle the site in a creative way!

This is the Silverlight year, this is where and when people want to SL, and you guys are asking to design the site with CSS. Why don't you design the Mix08 site with a killer SL to showcase the event? It's like I saw a site promoting Silverlight the other day and the whole site was done with flash.

CSS? That is so LAST century. I'd redo the whole darn thing in Silverlight (or is that SilverLITE if it's version 1.0?). Complete with flying in-and-out wipe effects and dazzling exploding sprites... Seriously though, I'm just getting into Silverlight. So far I know that XAML is pronounced Zam-ill, and that you can make it all work with Ajax and ASP.NET. But how? Well, I'm still on the first rung of the learning curve. And I DO need that 'showreel' web page to get work in the brave new world of Silverlight... As for their prize? Well, being from OUTSIDE of the USA, I'd have to decline it even if I won: Getting into the USA these days is even more difficult than finding a town without a Starbucks.

Some other topical themes for those CSS Gurus: Primary Colours, On Stike WGA Red Shirts, Black Wednesday Share Plunge, Iraq got a new flag. Yes, restyle the site in a creative way ;-)

Yes, Silverlight is awesome, but CSS is still a big part of web development.

Although not eligible as a contest entry, I'd love to see the homepage redone in Silverlight 1.0. I can't promise anything, but I bet if you did a great job we could do something for you.
