More Silverlight application themes and fixes

When Silverlight 3 launched, we also published several additional application themes for the navigation and business application (for .NET RIA Services) templates.  I just uploaded two more themes from one of our designers, Corrina, to the Expression Gallery.  There are versions for both navigation application template as well as the .NET RIA Services business application template.

Mediterranean Sun (RIA Services):

Seeing Sound (RIA Services):

Additionally, several fixes were made to the existing templates that some users reported.  I also added .NET RIA Services templates for those that were missing based on requests (Retro, Skyline, Subdued).

I noticed also that others have been uploading themes, behaviors and other goodness to the Expression Gallery, so be sure to check it out!

any idea when or if the toolkit themes and controls will get the theme problems fixed? I and a few other folks have filed bugs @ codeplex but we have not heard anything there yet.

for example the datepicker control draws the selected date texbox with the same foreground and background colors so that the date is invisible unless you select the content of the textbox control. this can be seen on the codeplex site in the toolkit theme samples. also the updown box and other controls have the same problem. right now we are beeing told not to use the theme in the dll and to use the xaml and edit it to fix it.
thats ok for a little while but it means that every developer who wants to use the themes has to edit them before they are useable.

    Hey,
Really good asset for my requirement. I have downloaded the theme (Seeing Sound) from link: gallery.expression.microsoft.com/.../Discussions. But, as you mentioned there "Extract the contents of this download and place the Styles.xaml in the projects Asset folder."

What you mean by asset folder and where can I find the same in my project if I am creating a new project in visual studio or Blend??? If we have to create a new folder with the name "Asset" and then copying your theme in that, how do we refer the same theme in my project ???

Aprit - these are theme enhancements for the "Silverlight Navigation Application" templates that are installed with the Visual Studio tools for Silverlight. If you create your project using those templates, you can drop this style right in.

    Tim

Hello, this is really great and we are currently in devlopment of two sites one of which will be doing a lot of HD video content.

However I have a question I have not been able to answer.

I been trying to develope a ASMX page to send out an email when a event takes place. Everything looks OK but I can NOT add it to the Resource Services section I always get an error no matter what I do.

The path is correct everthing. I even tried adding the App_Code director and put the code in it as well nothing changed.

I am running VS as ADMINISTRATOR. I have a feeling I am just missing something. Maybe something in the config file but I have NO CLUE

    Can you help?
